Consultancy Explained

When it comes to improving business processes or solving specific problems, there are two main approaches that Colleague Software will take: Software Enhancement & Consultancy (Paid). While both can be effective, they are fundamentally different in their nature and implementation.

 

Software Enhancement 

A software enhancement is a modification or addition to a software product that improves its performance, capabilities, or usability. It is usually implemented as a new feature or an improvement to an existing feature and is often released as part of a software update.

Software enhancements are typically developed by the software vendor and are made available to all users of the product. All customers can submit enhancement requests; however, the implementation is not guaranteed and time frames are decided by the Product Owner. 

 

Consultancy (Paid)

Consultancy refers to a service provided by a consultant, where they offer their expertise and knowledge to help a business or organization solve a specific problem or achieve a particular goal. This type of work is paid for on a project basis as per the daily/hourly rates quoted below.

The Team at Colleague can provide a wide range of services, from business analysis (reporting) to technical implementation of a bespoke modification to the system. We also offer training, mass data modification and custom automations.

We will work closely with the customer to understand their needs and challenges to develop customised solutions that are tailored to their specific requirements.

 

How Does This Differ From Your Support SLA?

Your support agreement gives you unlimited access to the Support Team to assist in any technical support queries, software updates, bug fixes, and access to a knowledge base or other resources. Any customisation to the system is outside of this scope. 

 

Summary

A software enhancement is an improvement to a software product, while consultancy is a service provided by a consultant to help a business or organisation achieve a specific goal.
